Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 July 2026
These terms apply when you ("you", "the Coach") use Level, a rotation-planning tool for grassroots football teams. By creating an account or using Level you agree to them. See also our Privacy Policy and Safeguarding & Children's Data Statement, which are part of these terms by reference.
1. Who provides Level
Level is built and operated by Alasdair Carr ("we", "us"), a sole trader based in the UK. Contact [email protected] for anything relating to these terms.
2. Your account
Access is currently invite-only. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
3. Entering player data — your responsibilities
Level is designed to hold the minimum information needed to plan a fair rotation: a player's first name (and a surname or initial only if needed to tell two same-named players apart), shirt number, skill rating, position preferences, and match stats.
Before adding a child's details to Level, you confirm that:
- you have the appropriate permission to hold that information, in line with your club's, league's, or governing body's existing safeguarding and parental consent arrangements;
- you will not add a player's photograph, video, date of birth, home address, school, medical information, or any other information beyond what Level asks for — see our Safeguarding & Children's Data Statement;
- you will remove a player's record — or ask us to at [email protected] — once they leave your team, if you stop coaching them, or if a parent or guardian withdraws consent.
As between you and us, you (and your club) are the data controller for the player and match data you enter, and are responsible for its accuracy and for having a lawful basis to hold it; we act as a data processor, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or remove content, or suspend or terminate an account, if we reasonably believe it's being used to store information beyond what these terms and our Safeguarding Statement permit.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Level for anything unlawful, or to store more personal data about a child than these terms allow;
- try to access another Coach's squad, players, or matches, or otherwise circumvent account isolation;
- upload or attempt to store a photograph or video of a player, in any field or by any workaround;
- use in-app bug reporting to send a child's name or other identifying detail — bug reports are not private (see Privacy Policy §3).
5. Availability and changes to the service
Level is provided as a personal project and is offered "as is," without a guaranteed uptime or support response time. We'll do our best to keep it running reliably and to give notice before any change that materially affects how you use it, but we may change, suspend, or discontinue Level, or any part of it, at any time.
6. Liability
Level helps plan playing time fairly, but you remain responsible for match-day decisions, player welfare, and compliance with your club's or league's rules — Level's output is a planning aid, not a substitute for your judgement as a Coach. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Level. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited under English law.
7. Intellectual property
The Level name, brand, and software belong to us. You're free to use the rotation plans, stats, and exports Level generates for your own team's purposes.
8. Ending your account
You can clear all of your own data at any time from Settings → Clear squad & data in the app, and you can stop using Level or ask us to delete your whole account whenever you like. We handle deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to these terms
We'll update this page if these terms change, and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Level after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
